Job summary

ESS – Defence, Energy and Government Services in the United Kingdom is seeking a passionate Chef on a full-time contract to 35 hours per week. You will prepare and serve high-quality food for Defence clients across UK sites, contributing to great customer experiences and maintaining brand standards.

The role requires City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ equivalent and a Food Hygiene certificate, plus experience supervising a kitchen and a flexible approach to shifts including 5 out of 7 days.

• Must have a passion for high-quality food and customer service.
• Experience supervising a kitchen team is required.
• Flexibility to work 5 out of 7 days and shifts.

Responsibilities

• Preparing delicious, high-quality food that delights clients.
• Overseeing and implementing menu changes.
• Identifying opportunities to improve food services.
• Listening and acting on customer feedback to improve services.
• Supporting creation of new menus and concepts.
• Representing Defence and maintaining a positive brand image.
• Monitoring inventories to keep kitchens well-stocked.
• Overseeing kitchen cleaning and hygiene standards.
• Complying with Food Handling, Hygiene and Health and Safety regulations
