Job summary

Compass Group UK&I ESS is recruiting an ambitious Chef for Defence on a full-time basis (35 hours per week). You will prepare and serve high-quality food, lead kitchen operations, and contribute to menu development while upholding strict hygiene standards.

This role supports Defence facilities across the UK. The ideal candidate holds City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ equivalent, has kitchen supervision experience, and a Food Hygiene certificate.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ equivalent required.
• Food Hygiene certificate required.
• Experience supervising a team in a kitchen.
• Experience in a similar Chef role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare delicious, high-quality food for clients and customers.
• Oversee and implement menu changes.
• Identify opportunities to improve food services.
• Listen to customer feedback to improve offerings.
• Assist with creating new menus and concepts.
• Represent Defence and maintain a positive brand image.
• Monitor inventories and keep kitchens stocked.
• Oversee kitchen cleaning to maintain hygiene.
• Comply with Food Handling, Hygiene and Health & Safety regulations.
