Job summary

ESS – Defence, Energy and Government Services is seeking a Chef for Defence projects in the UK. The role is full-time, contracted to 35 hours per week, focusing on delivering high-quality food for Defence clients and guests.

You will lead kitchen activities, manage menus, supervise staff, monitor stock, and ensure strict hygiene and health & safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ equivalent
• Food Hygiene certificate
• Experience supervising a team
• Experience in a similar Chef role
• Flexible approach to working

Responsibilities

• Prepare delicious, high-quality food for clients and customers
• Oversee and implement menu changes
• Identify opportunities to improve food services
• Listen to customer feedback to improve services
• Support creation of new menus and concepts
• Represent Defence and maintain a positive brand image
• Monitor inventories to keep kitchens well-stocked
• Oversee kitchen cleaning to maintain hygiene
• Comply with Food Handling, Hygiene and Health and Safety regulations
