VWFS UK is hiring a Data Protection Specialist to join our Legal & Compliance Team. You’ll advise on UK data protection laws, support the DPO, manage data breaches, DPIAs, and maintain ROPOs to ensure regulatory compliance.

You’ll collaborate with stakeholders, liaise with the ICO, and drive privacy improvements across the business in a regulated environment. A pragmatic, proactive approach and strong communication are essential.

Qualifikationen

• Proven experience providing data protection advice within Compliance/Legal functions at a specialist level.
• Excellent understanding of ICO guidance, codes and regulatory expectations in consumer credit or retail banking.
• Ability to manage complex, time-sensitive workloads with precision and professionalism.
• Ability to research, analyse and interpret regulatory information and present it clearly.
• Comfortable challenging views and interpreting regulatory guidance with accuracy and proportionality.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with ability to influence and negotiate.

Aufgaben

• Provide expert guidance to the business on UK Data Protection laws and regulatory changes.
• Maintain Registers of Processing Activities (ROPA).
• Assist with Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA).
• Lead the assessment and reporting of personal data breaches, including MI reporting to senior forums.
• Be the primary contact for DSARs, complaints and litigation matters related to data protection.
• Develop and execute second-line monitoring to drive compliance improvements.
• Liaise with the ICO on complaints and regulatory inquiries.
• Collaborate with Legal & Compliance colleagues to resolve data protection issues.
• Drive continuous improvement in data protection compliance and efficiency.
