Requirements
  • Proven experience leading IT strategy development and implementation in a complex organisation.
  • Strong track record of delivering software and systems improvements that drive operational efficiency.
  • Experience managing outsourced IT providers and multi-vendor environments.
  • Solid understanding of data protection, information security, and compliance frameworks (GDPR, ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials).
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to balance governance with innovation.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement an IT strategy and roadmap aligned with organisational objectives.
  • Assess and improve the efficiency, scalability, and security of existing systems and infrastructure.
  • Identify and deliver technology-driven solutions to streamline operations and improve productivity.
  • Lead digital transformation initiatives, including software selection, implementation, and integration across departments.
  • Advise senior leadership on emerging technologies, investment priorities, and risk mitigation.
  • Oversee day‑to‑day IT operations, balancing internal team capabilities with outsourced provider services.
  • Ensure effective service delivery, system reliability, and performance management from IT vendors.
  • Manage complex IT environments including cloud, network, and application ecosystems ensuring resilience and cost‑effectiveness.
  • Establish clear roles, responsibilities, and escalation processes between internal and external IT functions.
  • Maintain and enhance data governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with GDPR, ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials, and related standards.
  • Own and manage data security, privacy, and information risk processes, ensuring the business meets legal and regulatory obligations.
  • Lead internal and external audits, manage data incidents, and oversee disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Build a culture of data ethics, security awareness, and compliance through regular training and engagement.
  • Mentor and develop the internal IT team, building resilience and service excellence.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to ensure IT systems and processes enable growth and innovation.
