We have a fantastic opportunity for a Data Engineering Manager to join our Commercial data team, providing expertise and leadership for the Data Engineering function. You’ll be responsible for guiding solution development and delivery, with acknowledged expertise in various applications and technologies, dealing with complex technical issues within the domain.

At AXA, we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office. You’ll work at least 40% of your week away from home, visiting offices, clients, or industry events.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Lead the Data Engineering team in key technology areas such as cloud storage design, ELT frameworks, and security controls.
  • Drive the creation of reusable patterns and libraries.
  • Monitor the Azure cloud platform for system performance and cost efficiency.
  • Provide technical leadership and build relationships across the business and data teams.
  • Stay current with market trends and identify opportunities for AXA.
  • Mentor the team to meet planning commitments and foster continuous improvement.

What we’re looking for:
  • Strong understanding of data and analytical processing technologies.
  • Proven experience in technical leadership within a product team or domain.
  • Knowledge of development lifecycles.
  • Ability to lead and work in a team, as well as independently.
  • Experience with Agile practices and ceremonies.
  • Expertise in technologies such as Azure Data Lake, Data Factory, Event Hubs, Databricks, PowerBI, DevOps, GIT, SQL, Python, and PySpark.
  • Ability to challenge respectfully and work collaboratively.
  • Stakeholder engagement skills and understanding of business goals.
  • Motivational leadership to help the organization achieve objectives.
