Job summary

A leading global IT and Digital transformation business is seeking a Data Engineer with strong Microsoft Fabric expertise for a 6-month contract in London. The role involves owning the Microsoft Fabric architecture, leading teams, and managing stakeholder engagement. This position offers a hybrid working model, requiring 3 days remote and 2 days onsite each week, with a day rate of £500 (Inside IR35). Ideal candidates will start ideally in January 2026.

Data Engineer (MS Fabric)

6 Month Contract

£500 / day (Inside IR35)

Data Engineer needed with strong Microsoft Fabric enterprise data platform expertise. 6 Month Contract based in London (Hybrid). Paying £500 / day (Inside IR35).

Hybrid Working - 3 days / week remote (WFH), and 2 days / week working on-site from the office in Central London.

A chance to work with a leading global IT and Digital transformation business specialising in Government projects. Start ASAP ideally in Jan 2026.

Key experience + tasks will include :

• Technical Leadership : owning Microsoft Fabric architecture including : Lakehouse, OneLake organization, Warehouse patterns, Gold Layer modelling, defining / implementing ingestion + transformation pipelines (Dataflows Gen2, Notebooks), establishing modelling standards for Gold Layer + semantic models, performance optimization, lineage / observability, governance, RBAC, security, data retention.
• Team Leading / Delivery : setting standards, directing / mentoring the team, reviewing designs, unblocking delivery.
• Planning / coordinating internal squads and external suppliers, managing risks / issues + meeting milestones.
• Stakeholder Management : engaging with product owners, analysts + tech leads, progress / risk reporting.
