The Corporate Cancer Team supports & facilitate services to enhance quality& improvement to deliver timely, patient focused cancer care. We overseeand support multiple local/ nationally driven projects & otherinnovations across LTHT, WY&H Cancer Alliance & partnerorganisations. These initiatives are fundamentally driven by data, where thisrole will be pivotal. Whilstthe ability to work within a team is critical, being able to work on your own initiative will be key to your success in this role. The post is currently a fixed term 12 month role. We would also welcome individuals who may apply asa secondment opportunity to broaden their knowledge and experience.

Thecore hours will be Monday to Friday between 8 and 4, flexibility of workhours may be taken into consideration.

Main duties of the job

Weare looking for someone who can support the project and management team incollecting and collating data across a range of cancer services and then helpinterpret/present the data to a variety of audiences across the differentprojects and quality reviews (this might be as a written report or at timesverbally). Some of this will be manual collection of data at patient leveland some will be drawing from cancer reports already available in PPM1 (Ourpatient pathway management portal).

Youmust be able to demonstrate a good range of interpersonal and communicationskills with a can do attitude. You must be an expert in the use of Exceland PowerBi and be able to demonstrate production and presentation ofdashboards/Information.

Job responsibilities

Thepost holder is responsible for collating and interpreting data relating tocancer and producing reports forvarious teams throughout the Trust. In addition, the post holder will beresponsible for data retrieval for the Corporate Cancer Team and data sourceverification.

Thepost holder will work closely with the Business and Project Managers and theCancer Information Specialist to collect and present data as required.

Thepost holder must be able to communicate sensitively and effectively with awide range of people including medical and nursing staff and the widermulti-disciplinary teams with some possible patient interaction. The postholder will be required to understand the key features of the role andunderstand the need for confidentiality and discretion at all times.

  • Applicants will be educated to A level or similar
  • RSA 11 or equivalent standard of typing/word processing

  • The post requires input to clinical audits where data analysis will be required and performing own audits to improve data processes.
  • The post holder should be able to adapt systems to changing requirements, with a willingness to understand all policies and procedures governing the service and the wider Trust issues.
