A leading financial services organization in Birmingham is looking for a Cyber Security Zscaler Engineer for an initial 6-month contract. This hands-on role involves Zscaler Internet Access and Private Access design and deployment, as well as cross-functional collaboration with various teams. Ideal candidates will possess proven experience with Zscaler initiatives and a strong background in networking and cloud security principles. This position offers a competitive pay rate of £570 per day, inside IR35.

My client, a Financial services organisation, are looking for a Cyber Security Zscaler Engineer on an initial 6 Month Contract.

The role is INSIDE of IR35 and paying £570 Per Day

This is a hands‑on engineering role with significant design, troubleshooting, and cross‑functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Zscaler Engineering & Architecture

• Lead the end-to-end design, configuration, and deployment of Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) and Zscaler Private Access (ZPA) .
• Define Zscaler architecture standards, security policies, traffic routing strategies, and authentication models.
• Build and optimise Zscaler configurations for performance, resilience, and global scalability.
• Integrate Zscaler with identity providers (Okta, Azure AD), endpoint agents, and legacy network / security components.

Implementation & Delivery

• Drive enterprise-wide rollout plans, ensuring smooth deployment across global locations.
• Support Zero Trust transformation activities; enforce best‑practice security posture through Zscaler features and policy frameworks.
• Lead troubleshooting and performance optimisation across distributed user bases and diverse network conditions.
• Collaborate with network engineering teams to manage GRE / IPSec tunnels, PAC files, and traffic forwarding configurations.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with security, networking, cloud, compliance, and engineering teams to ensure solution alignment.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to engineers supporting the rollout.
• Act as the subject matter expert for all Zscaler‑related queries, risks, and design decisions.

Documentation & Governance

• Produce high‑quality engineering documentation, runbooks, design diagrams, and standards.
• Support operational readiness activities, including knowledge transfer to BAU / security operations teams.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise security, governance, and regulatory requirements.

Required Experience

• Proven experience leading Zscaler engineering initiatives in large enterprises.
• In‑depth expertise with ZIA , ZPA , Zscaler Client Connector, policy tuning, and traffic routing.
• Strong background in networking (DNS, VPN, routing, firewalls, proxies) and cloud security principles.
• Hands‑on experience integrating Zscaler with identity and access management platforms.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in complex, global environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in financial services or other highly regulated industries.
• Zero Trust architecture experience.
• Knowledge of SD‑WAN, SASE, or other cloud security platforms.
• Relevant certifications (Zscaler, network / security vendor, cloud).
