A prestigious UK independent school in Elstree is looking for a Customer Service Agent to provide frontline support for school transport enquiries. This role involves managing communications, coordinating staff bookings for transport, and delivering exceptional service in a busy school environment. Candidates should have excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to customer service. The position offers a competitive salary, private pension scheme, access to professional development opportunities, and many employee benefits, including on-site facilities and wellbeing initiatives.
Habs has been awarded Independent School of the Year 2025, with Haberdashers' Elstree Schools receiving both the award for Outstanding Educational Partnerships and the overall top accolade of Independent School of the Year 2025. This recognition reflects our long‑term commitment to social impact and the deep, sustained collaborations we continue to build with our state sector partners. It is an exciting time to join our community. We are looking for a friendly, organised and customer‑focused Customer Service Agent to join our Estates team at Haberdashers' Elstree Schools. This is an important frontline role for someone who enjoys helping others, solving problems and delivering a high standard of service in a busy school environment. Working closely with the Transport Manager and colleagues across the Schools, you will act as the first point of contact for all home‑to‑school transport enquiries. You will triage and resolve queries received by telephone, e‑mail, app messaging and the transport helpdesk, ensuring every interaction is handled efficiently, courteously and professionally. The hours of work will be 08:00 to 16:30, Monday to Friday (37.5 hours a week), with the successful candidate ideally working Term‑Time plus 4 weeks (39 weeks a year). This is a varied role that also supports the smooth running of the school minibus fleet. You will coordinate staff bookings, arrange vehicle and key collection, organise servicing, maintenance and repairs, and assist with the booking of coaches for school trips and fixtures. Alongside this, you will provide essential administrative support to the transport team.
We are seeking a well‑organised, proactive and approachable individual with experience in a customer‑facing role, excellent communication skills and confidence using Microsoft Office. You will be able to work independently, use your initiative and remain calm, patient and solution‑focused when dealing with queries. If you enjoy working in a fast‑paced environment where your contribution helps support a thriving school community, we would be pleased to receive your application.
