A local police force in Nottingham is seeking a Police Emergency Call Handler to serve as the first point of contact for both emergency and non-emergency calls. This critical role requires calmness, clear communication, and strong teamwork abilities. Candidates should possess good decision-making and stress management skills, along with a minimum typing speed of 30 wpm. This position offers shift-based work, including nights and weekends, with allowances for such shifts.
Our client is recruiting Police Emergency Call Handlers to join their Contact Management team. This is a critical role where you will be the first point of contact for emergency (999) and non-emergency (101) callers, providing calm, clear and efficient support to people in a wide range of situations. Initial training courses are expected to begin from March 2026, with additional intakes later in the year (dates may vary depending on operational needs).
This is a 24/7, 365-day shift-based role, including nights and weekends. Allowances are paid for shift and weekend work.
