You’ll take a lead in the assessment, training and recruitment of prospective adopters. This is a diverse role that will also include work with children and their families who have a plan of adoption, and also supporting those with lived experience of adoption.

You will also get the opportunity to lead information and training sessions for adoptive parents.

Day to day, you’ll be using our Signs of Safety methodology to collaborate with families and empower them to find their own solutions. You’ll also navigate the family justice systems to support young people and families while continuously developing your own knowledge of child development and attachment theory.

If you are a conscientious and resilient Social Work England registered social worker with at least two years of experience working with children and families, a talent for relationship building, and excellent assessment skills including the completion of Prospective Adopters reports and court reports, this is essential. Experience of non-agency adoptions and supporting adopted people to access their records would be preferred.

Car user for this role is essential; we are a large county and the role sometimes requires travel to other parts of the country.
