A social care recruitment agency is seeking an Adoption Social Worker in Lincoln to lead the assessment, training, and recruitment of adoptive families. This role requires a dedicated professional with at least 3 years of experience in English Local Authorities. Candidates must be registered with Social Work England and possess strong assessment skills. The position involves a hybrid work model, with 2 days in the office and occasional travel. A car and driver’s license are essential for this role.
You’ll take a lead in the assessment, training and recruitment of prospective adopters. This is a diverse role that will also include work with children and their families who have a plan of adoption, and also supporting those with lived experience of adoption.
You will work together with our dedicated children’s workers to find the best possible matches for our children and families both regionally and nationally. You will support adoptive families through the adoption panel and court processes, which can be complex and challenging at times. You will also get the opportunity to lead information and training sessions for adoptive parents.
Day to day, you’ll be using our Signs of Safety methodology to collaborate with families and empower them to find their own solutions. You’ll also navigate the family justice systems to support young people and families while continuously developing your own knowledge of child development and attachment theory.
If you are a conscientious and resilient Social Work England registered social worker with at least two years of experience working with children and families, a talent for relationship building, and excellent assessment skills including the completion of Prospective Adopters reports and court reports, this is essential. Experience of non-agency adoptions and supporting adopted people to access their records would be preferred.
Car user for this role is essential; we are a large county and the role sometimes requires travel to other parts of the country.
