Cover Supervisor – Dudley (KS3 & KS4)

With both long‑term placements and flexible day‑to‑day cover available, it’s a solid option for anyone looking to gain experience, support their PGCE plans, or simply enjoy the variety of teaching without the planning and marking workload.

Key Details
  • Position: Cover Supervisor (KS3 & KS4)
  • Location: Dudley Secondary Schools
  • Start Date: November 2025
  • Contract: Long‑term and day‑to‑day options
  • Pay: £500 – £750 per week (experience and assignment dependent)
The Role

As a Cover Supervisor you’ll step into classrooms across a range of subjects, delivering pre‑prepared work and ensuring lessons run smoothly. Your job is to maintain a positive learning environment, manage behaviour confidently, and keep students engaged while their teacher is away. Expect plenty of variety—you might be supporting English in the morning and supervising a PE session in the afternoon.

The Candidate
  • Strong classroom presence and enjoy leading groups
  • Adaptable and comfortable covering multiple subjects
  • Communicate clearly and can build positive relationships
  • Reliable, punctual, and confident managing behaviour
  • Hold relevant experience in schools or youth settings (preferred but not essential)

QTS is not required for this position.

The Schools

You’ll be working across a network of welcoming secondary schools in the Dudley area. These schools value consistency and appreciate Cover Supervisors who can maintain calm, productive classrooms. Many offer ongoing work throughout the academic year and often progress long‑term candidates into more permanent roles.
