We are currently recruiting Cover Supervisors to work across a variety of secondary schools in the Chesterfield area.

This is a fantastic opportunity for those looking to gain school-based experience, develop classroom skills, or take their first step into a career in education.

The Role
  • Supervise classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain on task.
  • Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
  • Support students with their learning where appropriate.
  • Work flexibly across different subjects and year groups.
Requirements
  • Have strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Are confident managing groups of young people.
  • Are reliable, punctial and able to adapt quickly to new environments.
  • Hold a minimum of GCSEs (A-C) in English and Maths or equivalent.
  • Have previous experience working with young people (desirable but not essential).
  • Are eligible to work in the UK.
Expectations
  • Be available for short-notice bookings as well as planned cover.
  • Uphold safeguarding and child protection standards at all times.
  • Follow school behaviour policies and demonstrate professional conduct.
  • Engage positively with staff and students, contributing to the school community.
  • Attend any required training or induction sessions.
Safeguarding & Compliance
  • All applicants must: Hold (or be willing to obtain) an enhanced DBS check on the Update Service.
  • Provide two recent, relevant references.
  • Complete necessary right-to-work and compliance checks.
