Job summary

A leading arts organization in Scotland is seeking a Teaching Artist specializing in Costume Construction to deliver teaching across Production degree programmes. This role is for 0.5 FTE on a fixed-term basis until July 2026 with a salary of £37,880 pro-rata. The ideal candidate will have practical experience in costume making, strong mentoring skills, and industry experience in patterning and tailoring. This position contributes to a supportive, inclusive education environment that fosters creative potential among students.

Qualifications

• Practicing costume maker with some teaching and/or mentoring experience in Further or Higher education.
• Demonstrable industry experience with strong skills in patterning, tailoring, assembly, and costume construction.

Responsibilities

• Deliver specialist teaching and mentoring on modules across Production degree programmes.
• Liaise with subject lecturers and Head of Production to ensure cohesive learning.
• Develop learning support material and contribute to assessments.
