Key Responsibilities
- You will support the Partners and Directors by delivering the highest level of technical compliance and corporate tax advisory work for our most complex clients. Responsible for seeking solutions and demonstrating technical knowledge to support the partners and the wider team;
- Be able to review the corporate technical work delivered by our team and liaise with the client managers on their clients.
- To lead and manage the technical development of the tax team in respect of corporate tax and associated personal tax affairs of the directors/shareholders of the limited companies that we act for, agreeing specific work and learning objectives, formal learning plans and manging all aspects of technical capability.
- You will participate in and seek out business development opportunities. Working with the Partners and Directors to promote the firms tax expertise, targeting clients both internally and externally. Building an understanding of the potential for upselling to clients and developing sales pipelines into intermediaries.
- You will be carrying out capital allowance reviews. Preparing & advising on R&D Tax claims.
- Reviewing client structures and identify potential tax planning opportunities, discussing with the Partners and Directors.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- CTA Qualified
- Applies technical skills to provide solutions to the client via an understanding of the tax system, being aware of the due dates for the submission of the annual Tax Returns and Computations and the due dates for the payment of tax
- To be proactive in identifying changes in the legislation and knowing how this impacts on own client base
- Ensures application of the firm’s technical standards in carrying out own work
- Regularly review work of colleagues for technical accuracy
- Maintains and develops technical knowledge through appropriate training
- Seeks advice where appropriate in order to minimise risk
