Job description

Corporate Associate / Senior Associate - Street, Somerset

A well-established firm in Somerset is looking to appoint a Corporate Associate or Senior Associate to join its growing team in Street.

This is a role for a lawyer who enjoys the variety and pace of corporate work - advising owner-managed businesses, SMEs, partnerships and entrepreneurs on everything from business sales and acquisitions to shareholder agreements, restructures, refinancing, and a broad range of commercial contracts.

You'll work closely with colleagues across commercial property, employment and private client to deliver a joined-up service to clients. There's plenty of scope to take the lead on transactions and help shape ongoing client relationships, while being part of a supportive and well-connected team.
While some flexibility is offered, this role is primarily based in the Street office to support collaboration and client service.

You'll be involved in:

  • Handling share and asset sales and purchases
  • Drafting shareholder, partnership and joint venture agreements
  • Advising on company restructures, refinancing, and constitutional changes
  • Drafting terms and conditions, agency and franchise agreements
  • Supporting secured lending and company secretarial work
  • Managing transactions from instruction to post-completion
  • Developing client relationships and contributing to team growth

Who this will suit:

  • A corporate lawyer with 3+ years' PQE and strong technical grounding
  • Someone confident running transactions, but who also values being part of a close-knit team
  • A lawyer who enjoys working directly with business owners and helping to shape their long-term plans
