Job summary

Holmes Care Group LTD in Scotland is seeking an experienced Cook to join our kitchen team, delivering varied menus for residents while accommodating individual dietary requirements.

You will guide and coach the kitchen team, manage stock, and ensure food hygiene standards are met. This permanent role offers ongoing training and development opportunities within a supportive care environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as a cook in a care setting or similar environment.
• Hold all relevant Food Hygiene certificates and be aware of regulations.

Responsibilities

• Produce varied, tasty menus for residents while accommodating dietary requirements.
• Provide special diets where necessary.
• Clean and wash up after meals and maintain kitchen cleanliness.
• Prepare and serve meals to residents.
• Guide and coach the kitchen team.
• Stock control, restocking/ordering.
• Manage Food Health and Safety requirements and keep documentation up to date.

What does the day of a Cook look like?

• Producing varied, tasty menus for our residents, whilst also considering individual dietary requirements
• To provide special diets where necessary
• Cleaning and washing up after meals and ensuring the overall cleanliness of the kitchen
• Preparing and serving meals
• Guiding and coaching the kitchen team
• Stock control; stock replenishing/ordering
• Managing Food Health and Safety requirements, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed and up to date

To be considered for this role you will need to have experience working as a Cook, with the ability to accommodate a variety of dietary requirements. In addition, we expect you to hold all the relevant qualifications and Food Hygiene Certificates, and that you are aware of all the relevant regulations.
