Job summary

Holmes Care Group in Scotland is seeking an experienced Cook to join our care home team. You will prepare nutritious, home-cooked meals and ensure dietary requirements are accommodated with high standards of cleanliness and health and safety.

You will hold relevant Food Hygiene Certificates and stay compliant with all regulations. This permanent role offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities for training within a supportive, resident-focused environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Produce varied, tasty menus while considering dietary requirements.
• Provide special diets where necessary.
• Clean and wash up after meals and maintain kitchen cleanliness.
• Prepare and serve meals.
• Guide and coach kitchen team.
• Stock control and ordering.
• Manage Food Health and Safety documentation.

What does the day of a Cook look like?

Our Cooks play a key role in serving nutritious home cooked meals, whilst also maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and health and safety:

Producing varied, tasty menus for our residents, whilst also considering individual dietary requirements

To provide special diets where necessary

Cleaning and washing up after meals and ensuring the overall cleanliness of the kitchen

Preparing and serving meals

Guiding and coaching the kitchen team

Stock control; stock replenishing/ordering

Managing Food Health and Safety requirements, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed and up to date

To be considered for this role you will need to have experience working as a Cook, with the ability to accommodate a variety of dietary requirements. In addition, we expect you to hold all the relevant qualifications and Food Hygiene Certificates, and that you are aware of all the relevant regulations.
