Job summary

Holmes Care Group LTD is seeking an experienced Cook to join our kitchen team. You will design and prepare varied menus for residents, ensuring dietary needs are met and quality is maintained. You will also guide the kitchen team, manage stock, and keep health and safety records up to date.

The role offers opportunities for ongoing training and development within a supportive care environment. Excellent pay rates and benefits are provided, with the possibility of Scotland-specific registration

Qualifications

• Experience as a Cook in a care or residential setting.
• Ability to accommodate varied dietary requirements and restrictions.
• Hold Food Hygiene Certificates and be aware of relevant regulations.

Responsibilities

• Produce varied, tasty menus for residents with dietary needs.
• Prepare and serve meals and manage kitchen cleanliness.
• Guide and coach the kitchen team and manage stock and orders.
• Ensure Food Health and Safety documentation is up to date.

What does the day of a Cook look like?

• Producing varied, tasty menus for our residents, whilst also considering individual dietary requirements
• To provide special diets where necessary
• Cleaning and washing up after meals and ensuring the overall cleanliness of the kitchen
• Preparing and serving meals
• Guiding and coaching the kitchen team
• Stock control; stock replenishing/ordering
• Managing Food Health and Safety requirements, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed and up to date

To be considered for this role you will need to have experience working as a Cook, with the ability to accommodate a variety of dietary requirements. In addition, we expect you to hold all the relevant qualifications and Food Hygiene Certificates, and that you are aware of all the relevant regulations.
