The Chief Operating Officer (COO) provides leadership, management and vision necessary to ensure that the company has the proper operational controls, administrative / reporting procedures, and people / systems in place to effectively grow the company and to ensure financial strength and operating efficiency. The COO is the company’s second‑in‑command and is responsible for driving sustainable growth, collaborating with the CEO and Board, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership & Management
- Lead and oversee business support functions on a day‑to‑day basis to deliver high quality services to clients and stakeholders.
- Provide training, coaching and mentoring to team members on an ongoing basis and ensure teams maintain competence in relation to legal and regulatory issues.
- Monitor and provide guidance on adequate staffing levels for the business to ensure that we are meeting customer demands and service levels.
Collaboration
- Work with teams to ensure delivery against the strategic direction set by the CEO and Board.
- Set clear targets, financial planning and risk management.
- Collaborate with Production, Commercial, Document Services, IT, Projects (Reception) to ensure effective processes exist and are maintained for all business activities.
- Understand the business aspects of technology, formulate priorities and work with the IT team to deliver against these priorities.
- Work alongside Compliance and HR teams to interpret business policy and design effective quality assurance processes.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify and implement solutions to issues in Production, Commercial, Document Services, IT, and Projects (Reception) areas.
- Ensure robust data is available to monitor business performance and support strategic decision making.
- Proactively monitor internal and external trends to shape products and service offerings.
- Maintain and develop own skills, knowledge and behaviours while keeping up to date with regulatory standards and changes.
Growth
- Participate in expansion activities (investments, acquisitions, corporate alliances, etc.); assist in raising additional capital at appropriate valuations.
Reporting
- Provide regular clear reporting to the CEO and other relevant stakeholders on business and team performance in line with business objectives.
Relationship Management
- Manage relationships with partners, suppliers and clients as the professional face of the business.
