Job summary

Grant Thornton in the United Kingdom seeks an exceptional Senior Manager/Associate Director to scale our Controllership Transformation and Financial Close Automation practice. You will lead engagements with CFOs, shaping future-state close models and driving measurable outcomes across complex finance operations.

You will collaborate with senior finance leaders, oversee multi-engagement delivery, and leverage FloQast, OneStream and Prophix to reduce close times and improve reporting accuracy.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in controllership, financial close transformation or finance management consulting, with leadership of complex programmes.
• Hands-on implementation or advisory experience with close automation or EPM platforms: FloQast, OneStream or Prophix.
• Deep understanding of close processes: financial close cycles, reconciliations, consolidation and intercompany accounting.
• Ability to design future-state close operating models across process, automation, controls and people.
• Experience working with CFOs and Financial Controllers; proven client relationship skills.
• Strong commercial acumen to scope engagements, manage budgets and identify revenue opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end controllership transformation programmes from current- to future-state designs.
• Own financial close automation workstreams: design, configuration, testing and change management.
• Advise on close technology platform selection with expertise across FloQast, OneStream and Prophix.
• Redesign close and consolidation processes, optimise calendars, and automate intercompany tasks.
• Develop policy and control frameworks to reduce manual effort and audit risk.
• Drive journal entry and variance-analysis automation to shorten close cycles.
• Translate finance-ops challenges into actionable roadmaps for client teams to execute.
• Manage multiple engagements, ensuring quality, timelines and budgets.
