Job summary

Grant Thornton UK is seeking an exceptional Assistant Manager for Finance Consulting to scale our Controllership Transformation and Financial Close Automation practice. You will work at the intersection of finance operations, process redesign, and enabling technology—collaborating with senior finance leaders to shape our offering.

You’ll develop skills across process redesign, automation tech, and stakeholder management, supported by Directors and Partners for growth.

Qualifications

• Qualified with ACA/ICAS/CA/ACCA/CIMA/CIPFA and post-qualification experience.
• Interest in finance transformation and role of technology in controllership and close processes.
• Confidence engaging with senior finance stakeholders and managing expectations.

Responsibilities

• Lead workstreams within controllership and financial close transformation engagements.
• Assist with practice development initiatives, including internal BD and marketing efforts.
• Manage engagement budgets and timelines with senior colleagues.
• Analyse current-state close processes to identify bottlenecks and automation opportunities.
• Support design and implementation of improved close calendars, reconciliation frameworks, and workflows.
• Assist in technology implementations across FloQast, OneStream, Prophix, and similar tools.
• Develop policy frameworks and training materials to embed lasting change.
