Job summary

Grant Thornton UK’s Finance Consulting / CFO Solutions practice is recruiting an exceptional Assistant Manager to scale our Controllership Transformation and Financial Close Automation services. You will work with senior finance leaders to re-engineer close processes, deploy automation technologies, and manage client relationships.

You will develop skills across process redesign, technology-enabled close, and governance, supported by Directors and Partners who help you grow, with clear paths

Qualifications

• ACA/ICAS/CA/ACCA/CIMA/CIPFA qualification with post-qualification experience
• Genuine interest in finance transformation and role of technology in improving controllership/close processes
• Confidence engaging with senior finance stakeholders and managing expectations effectively

Responsibilities

• Build your internal and external network to grow opportunity generation as you progress toward Associate Director
• Develop skills around finance automation technology and achieve certification status of selected solutions
• Use empathy and listening to uncover root causes and translate into compelling client propositions
• Collaborate across Consulting and Grant Thornton to bring the right capabilities to clients
• Take ownership of quality, compliance, and risk on engagements
• Assist with practice development initiatives and toolkit improvements with senior colleagues
• Manage engagement budgets and timelines
• Support and lead workstreams within controllership and financial close transformation engagements
• Analyze current-state close processes to identify bottlenecks and automation opportunities
• Assist in design/implementation of improved close calendars, reconciliations, workflows and intercompany processes
• Support close technology implementations across FloQast, OneStream, Prophix; gather requirements, configure, test and drive user adoption
• Develop process documentation, policy frameworks and training materials to embed lasting change
• Build strong day-to-day relationships with client finance teams as a trusted contact
