Job summary

Mitie Group plc. in Manchester is seeking an organised, efficient Control Room Operator to monitor CCTV, intruder and fire alarm panels within our security team. You will be working within a supportive team to maintain and monitor CCTV, intruder, and fire alarm panels.

• Previous security experience.
• Must hold a valid CCTV license.
• SC clearance desirable.

Responsibilities

• Monitor CCTV, intruder and fire alarm panels on a daily basis.
• Create incident reports and request engineers as needed.
• Communicate via radio with emergency services and the public.
• Elevate incidents and report Health and Safety concerns.
• Support the shift team and maintain accurate incident records.

Job description

Mitie has a great opportunity for an organised, efficient, and experienced Control Room Operators to join our security team in Manchester. You will be working within a supportive team to maintain and monitor CCTV, intruder, and fire alarm panels. There are also administrative tasks to support the whole security contract, which includes creating incident reports, requesting engineers, and communicating via radio with emergency services and members of the public., You will be contracted to 42 hours a week with a pay rate of £13.88 per hour. You will report to the sites Supervisor., Your key responsibilities will include assisting with daily operational requirements - ensuring compliance and accurate recording of incidents. As part of your role, you will be required to elevate incidents, report Health and Safety concerns, and respond to emergency situations, while producing accurate reports to ensure incidents are efficiently responded to.

Key responsibilities

• You will also be supporting the Shift Supervisor where required.
• You will need to be a team player with an enthusiastic attitude.
• You should be able to work on own initiative.
• Excellent communication skills is essential (written and verbal).
• Corporate Security experience is preferred but not essential.
• Flexible approach to work to suit the business needs.
• Calm under pressure.
• Understand the Health and Safety at Work Act, relevant Criminal, Civil Law and Police and Criminal Evidence Act.

What we are looking for

• Previous Security Experience
• CCTV License
• SC Clearance desirable

If you have prior control room or security experience, a passion for delivering excellent customer service and a desire to excel. You MUST hold a valid CCTV License and have a 5-year verifiable education or work history with references.

The shifts are 4 on 4 off

There are day and night shifts available, and extra shifts are offered to cover absence and holidays within the team.
