Job summary

MITIE is seeking a Control Room Operator to monitor alarm and CCTV signals across multiple client sites from a 24/7 Alarm Receiving Centre. You will contact emergency services and keyholders as needed, document incidents clearly, and follow standard operating procedures to ensure rapid and accurate responses.

Ideal candidates will have experience with alarm monitoring systems, excellent communication, and the ability to work rotating shifts including nights and weekends.

Job Title: Control Room Operator

Where: Mitie | 1st Floor, Unit 9 Silverwood Business Park, 70 Silverwood Road, Lurgan, Craigavon, County Armagh, BT66 6SY

Pay Rate: £13.98 p/h

Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off, two alternating shift patterns (6am-6pm and 12pm-12am)

Main Duties:

As an Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) Operator within MITIE, your responsibilities will include:

• Monitoring incoming alarm and CCTV signals from multiple client sites.
• Contacting emergency services, keyholders, or relevant contacts in the event of an alarm activation.
• Providing accurate communication.
• Documenting all incidents and actions taken in a clear and concise manner.
• Following standard operating procedures and guidelines to ensure effective response to all situations.
• Working effectively as part of a team to maintain 24/7 surveillance and response capabilities.
• Demonstrating strong attention to detail, quick decision-making skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Requirements for this role typically include proficiency in using alarm monitoring systems, excellent communication skills, the ability to work rotating shifts including nights and weekends, and a background check for security clearance. A background in security, customer service, or emergency response is often preferred but not essential as full training will be provided.

You must successfully pass a PSNI check as per BS5979 and BS7858 screening as per industry standard.
