Job description

Role: Content Executive

Department: Content and Organic

Salary: £22-24k

Base: Brighton, Soho and remote

Hours: 37.5 per week+

Overview

addmustard is a brand, marketing and technology agency for entrepreneurs.

We add the strategic and creative firepower of an advertising agency, the precision and incision of a digital marketing agency, and the flexibility of an in-house team.

We are world-class at creating value in our clients’ businesses and brands.

We are a team of 35 brilliant brand, marketing and technology experts: a core in-house team based in the United Kingdom (Brighton, Sussex and Soho, London), supported by a network of specialists from around the world.

Who we are looking for

At addmustard, every word counts. We’re looking for someone who approaches language with craftsmanship, who values, questions, and enjoys every phrase they create. You know that a headline can spark a movement, a tagline can tip a deal, and a single misplaced word can change everything. Your respect for the power of language goes beyond grammar. It’s about honouring ideas, people, and possibilities, and recognising the difference words can make in how we connect and communicate.

Requirements
  1. A fervour for crafting unparalleled, engaging copy that resonates with diverse audiences.
  2. Faultless proofreading skills and an unwavering commitment to accuracy and detail.
  3. You’ll have an inquisitive mind, a curious nature, and a desire to ask questions. You will enjoy the challenge of learning about a diverse range of businesses and markets.
  4. A highly creative and innovative mindset, with a passion for imaginative brainstorming and developing new content concepts.
  5. A hard-working, hands-on and driven attitude, with a desire to question existing processes and suggest improvements to boost efficiency and effectiveness.
  6. An eagerness to learn and grow, with the ability to quickly pick up new skills and apply them.
  7. A collaborative spirit and the ability to thoughtfully receive and apply feedback.
  8. A solid understanding of social media platforms and the ability to contribute fresh, creative ideas.
  9. A foundational understanding of SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) is a plus, but not essential.

You will develop into a trusted advisor for the clients you work with. You’ll want to live and breathe our clients’ businesses, their brands, their teams, their communications, campaigns, performance and success. You’ll have the ability to empathise with the entrepreneurs we work with and you’ll love working hard to drive growth and value in their businesses.

Responsibilities and qualifications
  • Relentlessly elevate our voice: spot questionable phrasing, push for braver headlines, and inject energy and meaning into everything we publish.
  • Guard the gates of linguistic excellence: own the standard for flawless grammar, tone, and style across every channel and client.
  • Create, draft, edit and proofread high-quality copy for a variety of platforms.
  • Create compelling content for social media channels, from ideation to execution and posting.
  • Push the boundaries of content formats, using your imagination and research skills to help addmustard and its clients create inspiring, unique and compelling content strategies.
  • Play with, evaluate, share and deploy new technologies that will drive efficiency and creativity, including how AI is shaping the future of content production and distribution.
  • Collaborate with a diverse portfolio of clients and industries, adapting content and tone to suit their unique brand voices.
  • Manage and upload content using various content management systems (CMS), including WordPress.
What does it mean for you?

We pride ourselves on being bold, energetic, precise and irreverent. Equally, we are open, honest, innovative and hard-working in everything we do for our entrepreneurial clients, our team and our network.

You’ll be surrounded and supported by a team who will embolden and challenge you to approach each and every day with those values in mind. We’ve built (and are very proud of) our completely flat and integrated organisational structure – we don’t care where the good ideas come from, as long as they can be turned into something astonishing and deliver tangible value.

What’s in it for you?

In return for your commitment, creativity and incredible mind, you can expect:

  • To work across a diverse range of fascinating audiences, markets, sectors and projects, each with unique problems that we can solve.
  • To work alongside and be trained by industry experts at the forefront of brand, marketing and technology.
  • Our senior management is accessible, open, honest and transparent. This means we all care about you and your development, progression, success and happiness. And we regularly share financial, team, and client performance with the whole agency.
  • Flexible hours and a hybrid working structure—split between home, our eclectic Soho office, and Brighton’s vibrant Lanes.
  • Be part of an amazing, sociable and supportive team.
  • An (over)active social life: regular lunches, dinners, ad-hoc team events and now and then, holidays.
  • Unlimited holiday allowance.
  • Inclusion in our 10% annual bonus scheme (after your first year).
  • £1,000 personal training budget per year.
