A prominent mental health service provider in Greater London seeks a consultant psychiatrist to enhance medical cover in their Ealing Liaison Psychiatry Service. The successful candidate will lead the liaison psychiatry team, act as a Responsible Clinician, and collaborate closely with various mental health and acute services. This role involves significant leadership, integration of services, and delivery of teaching and training programs. The position offers a whole-time equivalent commitment with a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
We are delighted to be advertising a 1.0 whole‑time equivalent (WTE) post which has been created by new monies, designed to enhance the medical cover at the Ealing Liaison Psychiatry Service.
Ealing LPS service operates the Core‑24 liaison psychiatry model in line with NHS England commissioning guidelines. The service provides rapid and effective input to patients in all inpatient wards and ED in Ealing, seeing patients over the age of 16 regardless of address or GP location. ELPS operates 24 hours, every day. Out‑of‑hours medical cover is provided by the on‑call medical rota. The ELPS has good relationships with hospital clinicians and leaders.
The high‑intensity user service is run jointly by LPS and ED consultants and includes a dedicated social prescriber.
The post‑holder will work collaboratively with the ELPS team manager and existing consultant psychiatrists to provide leadership and clinical expertise to the liaison psychiatry team to deliver a responsive and high‑quality service. The post‑holder will be pivotal to the ethos of the team and further integration of the liaison psychiatry service with the acute and mental health trusts’ services.
