Job summary

A prominent healthcare provider in Wales is seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to work in the Traumatic Stress Pathway and Veterans' Service. This unique role requires expertise in PTSD and multi-disciplinary teamwork. The successful candidate will have full GMC registration and a commitment to professional development. The role offers a salary between £110,240 and £160,951 per annum, pro rata.

Qualifications

This job is a unique and exciting opportunity to work as a Consultant Psychiatrist in both the Traumatic Stress Pathway and the Veterans' Service within Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board. These are Health Board wide services which are part of the CAMHS and Specialised Services Directorate within the Mental Health Care Group. Both roles are replacement posts and would suit a psychiatrist with a particular interest in PTSD and CPTSD.

Qualifications & Training

• Full GMC Registration with a Licence to Practice
• On the GMC Specialist Register for General Adult Psychiatry and/or Forensic Psychiatry (or be eligible for registration within 6 months of interview)
• Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent
• Section 12 approved doctor under the Mental Health Act
• Additional postgraduate Qualifications e.g. MSc/MD/PhD
• Recognised trainer by the GMC
• Approved Clinician Status in Wales

Experience

• Experience of working with patients with PTSD or CPTSD
• Experience of working in multi-disciplinary teams
• Experience of multi-agency working
• Experience of clinical risk management
• Experience of teaching
• Clinical experience of working with Veterans
• Experience of working as a Consultant Psychiatrist in NHS Wales
• Evidence of engagement with research
• Evidence of previous leadership experience
