A health services provider in the UK is seeking a Consultant in General Adult Psychiatry to join their team in Bury. This newly created role focuses on community psychiatry within a strong teaching environment, where the consultant will work both in clinics and visit patients at their homes. Ideal candidates will have relevant qualifications such as MBChB and MRCPsych, with strong knowledge in adult psychiatry. Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to make a substantive whole time appointment to this newly established post with Bury Mental Health Services. This post will cover a sector of the Bury area. The post has been created due to the current consultant moving to another job in the trust.
The Bury general adult psychiatry service (generally for people aged 16 to 64) has been run since 2008 according to a model whereby our team of consultants are deployed as follows: three consultants work exclusively in the community and outpatient focus areas, one working with the Early Intervention Service, and two inpatient areas including Home Treatment and two A&E Liaison Team. Also one consultant in Living Well.
Within this arrangement, the consultant appointed to this post will work with other sector consultants (East, West and South sector community outpatients).
This is a newly created post. This is an exciting time to join the Trust and there are many opportunities to contribute to the organisation's innovation and for personal development.
Bury has a very strong teaching commitment and candidates will be expected to contribute to the teaching of medical and nursing staff.
Patients will be seen in community clinics, at their own homes or in other clinical settings according to clinical need.
