A leading Further Education College is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Carpentry Technician to support its Construction department. Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain workshop tools, equipment, and materials for carpentry and joinery sessions.
  • Support lecturers during practical lessons, ensuring a safe and efficient learning environment.
  • Monitor and maintain health and safety standards within the workshop.
  • Assist in setting up demonstrations and practical assessments.
  • Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on tools and machinery.
  • Manage inventory and order supplies as needed.
  • Provide technical advice and support to students during practical sessions.
  • Ensure the workshop is clean, organised, and compliant with college policies.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Relevant qualification in Carpentry, Joinery, or Construction (e.g. NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent).
  • Experience working in a workshop or construction environment.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff and students.
