Job summary

A dynamic legal consultancy is seeking a Construction Lawyer to join their in-house legal team in Manchester. The ideal candidate will have strong contentious construction law experience and familiarity with commercial property matters. You will lead on legal advice relating to contentious construction cases, manage a varied caseload with minimal supervision, and support senior stakeholders across the organization. This role is full-time for 15 months, providing an excellent opportunity to thrive in a supportive and flexible environment.

Job description

Elevate Flexible Legal Resourcing is seeking an experienced Construction Lawyer to join our customer's high-performing in-house legal team. This requires someone confident operating independently, with strong contentious construction experience and exposure to commercial property matters.

Location : London (3 days per week in the office)

Start Date : ASAP

Contract : 15 months

Requirements

• Qualified solicitor with solid experience in contentious construction law.
• Exposure to commercial property matters (in-house experience strongly preferred).
• Ability to work independently and provide clear, pragmatic advice.
• Comfortable operating in a small team with senior stakeholders.
• Proactive, practical, and willing to “roll up your sleeves.”
• Availability to start immediately or before year-end.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead on contentious construction matters, providing pragmatic, commercially focused legal advice.
• Manage a varied caseload with minimal supervision, acting as the primary construction law specialist.
• Support senior stakeholders across the organisation on construction disputes, contract issues, and related property matters.
• Work closely with internal teams to provide clear, decisive guidance and help drive efficient resolution of issues.
• Contribute proactively within a lean legal function, taking a hands-on approach and offering robust, well-reasoned views.
• Assist with knowledge sharing and handover processes with the existing legal team.
