Job description
Overview

Role: They would love to have more volunteers to help with their work and be able to offer people a beautiful setting to volunteer, whilst improving their mental health and giving back to nature. Getting your hands dirty in nature can do wonders for your mental and physical health whether you want to go on your own or as a work party with friends and family, everybody is welcome. There are various opportunities to help with their practical habitat management work like meadow cutting, tree pollarding and coppicing, painting hides, building boardwalks. Tools and PPE is provided plus in house training for any tools required. Or do you have a specific interest in an area of flora or fauna like fungi or butterflies you could go and help with regular surveys to add to the extensive species records. Or maybe you would like to learn how to do these surveys with the ranger? They can offer training until you feel confident enough to go out on your own. Maybe you would like to lead guided wildlife walks around the estate?

Time commitment

They are very flexible with time commitment, but are only open to volunteers Monday to Friday unless needed to help with events. There is no minimum or maximum time commitment required, they appreciate any time you can spare. Any age or gender can volunteer but for the practical work you will need a basic level of fitness. Tea and Coffee provided.
