A leading UK contractor seeks a Compliance Manager to oversee audits and ensure compliance across its operations in the Midlands, South East, and East Anglia. LOCATION:
Location is flexible but must be willing to travel throughout the Midlands, South East and East Anglia offices and sites. Company also offers hybrid working.
ROLE:
As Compliance Manager you will be planning & delivering the internal audit programme ensuring effective coverage for Business Units in geographical area of operation.
The successful candidate will be providing support and advice to Office & Project teams to improve compliance and commitment to implementing and operating to the Business Management Systems. This covers all functional aspects of the business and the Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety and Information Security standards requirements.
DUTIES:
Audit Planning:
-Preparing and delivering the internal audit programme for Business Units in geographical area of operation.
-Liaise with project sites, regional offices and corporate services to programme audits in line with the audit programme and Business Management Systems requirements and ongoing prioritisation of the current risk areas to the operation of the Management Systems.
-Management and reporting of all audits in the Business Unit, Project, Office or Function.
-Share lessons and business improvements resulting from audits conducted to drive our continuous improvement culture.
Audit Delivery & follow up:
-Undertake effective, objective and consistent audits in accordance with the Guidance for Conducting Internal Audits ofproject sites, regional offices and functions covering:
-Produce timely audit reports and findings in line with company audit process and systems.
-Discuss and agree corrective and preventative actions and Root Cause Analysis. (RCAs) with project and Business Unit and functional auditees.
-Verify close-out of Non-Conformity Reports (NCRs) when sufficient evidence has been received and reviewed.
Analyse Audits/Provide Support and Advice to Project, Business Unit & Functional teams:
-Provide support and advice to Project, Business Unit and Functional teams to improve compliance and commitment to implementing and operating to the Business Management Systems by:
Other Support:
-Co-ordinate with other Compliance Managers on all the above.
-Assist and support incident investigation activities as required including in undertaking forensic audits where appropriate.
-Periodically deliver ‘Introduction to Quality’ training workshops for new project delivery staff joining the business in own geographical area.
-Undertake Supply chain audits to key supply chain partners where the requirement is identified.
-Support Pre-Qualification Questionnaire and Bid Submissions as required to support Business Unit work winning activity in Business Units in Business Units in geographical area of operation.

REQUIREMENTS:
To be considered for this Compliance Manager role you must meet the following criteria:
- Previous employment as a Compliance Manager or similar.
-Knowledge and understanding of relevant ISO Standards, such as:
-Principles of effective auditing.
-Experience of performing a similar role within the construction industry.
-Lead Auditor qualification
-Charter status of the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) (Desirable).
-Interpersonal skills and comfort with interacting with higher levels of leadership and management.
-Strong leadership acumen, eye for detail in audit delivery and reporting.
-Microsoft skills – advance level.
-Ability to plan, organise and employ effective time management to deliver audit schedule.
-Ability to apply flexible approach to meeting the business needs and support to suit personalities and situations to maximise potential to drive improvement to Business Unit compliance performance.
-Regional travel required (Essential).
-Clean driver licence (Essential).
