Overview

Join LGPS Central at a pivotal moment—where investment meets long term impact. We are looking for a proactive and motivated Compliance Analyst to join our Legal, Compliance & Risk team. Reporting to the Compliance Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the effective operation of our compliance framework and supporting the business in meeting regulatory obligations. This role offers an opportunity to develop a career in compliance within a £45bn pension pool, contributing to the highest standards of oversight and assurance as our fund range continues to grow.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain the compliance registers, including breaches, gifts and entertainment, and personal account dealing.
  • Manage the compliance inboxes and allocate tasks/queries to the compliance team as appropriate.
  • Manage the allocation and database of online compliance training for new and existing staff.
  • Advise staff on compliance policies and their responsibilities in relation to them.
  • Support the execution of the Compliance Monitoring Programme, including the maintenance of accurate records.
  • Support the daily review of investment guideline monitoring in Bloomberg and associated record keeping.
  • Support the development and embedding of a strong compliance culture.
  • Support the compliance team to maintain and update policies and procedures to comply with evolving legal and regulatory standards.
  • Support the preparation of compliance decks and materials that will be submitted to the LGPS Central Board and its underlying governance Committees. This will include preparing compliance MI and stats.
  • Support horizon scanning activities and the review of regulations and legislation that impact LGPS Central.
  • Support the preparation of compliance reviews by regulators, clients, and other third parties, including follow up actions.
  • Support with conducting AML checks on clients as well as counterparty due diligence, including their ongoing review.

Requirements
Experience
  • Previous compliance experience is desirable but not essential. However, you must have an interest in asset management and the UK regulatory environment.
  • Relevant experience in a professional services environment is desirable.
Knowledge
  • Understanding of how UK law and FCA regulation impacts the operation of regulated companies (e.g., UK legislation and the FCA handbook).
  • An interest in learning about and applying FCA rules in an asset management company.
Competencies
  • Excellent communication skills. Able to translate complex and technical matters into clear and relevant guidance.
  • Strong problem solving skills with a pragmatic approach to resolving issues.
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills to manage competing priorities.
