Job summary

HC-One Limited is hiring a Kitchen Assistant for a full-time role of 38 hours per week. You will help prepare and serve nutritious meals, supporting residents with special dietary needs, and maintain high kitchen hygiene.

Aware of safeguarding, you will work under supervision and show patience and kindness in every interaction. We value teamwork, training opportunities, and progression with benefits including training support and staff welfare initiatives.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates kindness and respect in interactions with Residents and colleagues.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to follow recipes and record information accurately.
• Willingness to work towards NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal preparation under direction of Chef or Cook.
• Serve meals with warmth and respect in a timely manner.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene of surfaces and equipment.
• Monitor and record storage temperatures (fridges, freezers).
• Support stock rotation and proper storage of ingredients.
• Show new staff how to use kitchen equipment safely.
• Wash up and keep the kitchen spotless after busy periods.
