Job summary

HC-One is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support high-quality care through nutritious meals in our dementia, nursing, and residential homes. You’ll work under supervision to prepare and serve meals, maintain hygiene, monitor food temperatures, and assist with stock control while delivering compassionate, respectful service to Residents.

We welcome someone with kitchen experience and a willingness to pursue an NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation, with strong organisation and a detail‑oriented

Qualifications

• Some kitchen experience
• Willingness to work towards NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to follow recipes and record information accurately
• Demonstrates patience, respect and kindness with Residents and colleagues

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal preparation under supervision
• Serve meals warmly and promptly
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen
• Monitor and record food storage temperatures
• Support stock rotation and proper storage of ingredients
• Train or guide new team members on kitchen equipment
• Wash up and keep the kitchen spotless during/after busy periods
