Job summary

HC-One is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support dementia, nursing, residential and specialist care homes with high-quality meals. You will prepare and serve nutritious dishes, maintain hygiene, and record storage temperatures while showing kindness to Residents.

Ideal candidates will have some kitchen experience and be willing to work towards NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation. Strong organisation, attention to detail, and patience are essential in this caring role.

Qualifications

• Must have or be willing to work towards NVQ2 in Catering/Food Preparation.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are essential.
• Ability to follow recipes and record information accurately.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal preparation under direction of Chef or Cook.
• Serve meals warmly and promptly to Residents.
• Maintain kitchen hygiene and cleanliness of equipment and surfaces.
• Monitor and record food storage temperatures.
• Support stock rotation and proper storage of ingredients.
• Train new team members on safe kitchen equipment use.
• Wash up and keep the kitchen spotless after busy shifts.
