Job summary

HC-One is seeking a Kitchen Assistant in the United Kingdom to support dementia, nursing, residential and specialist care homes. You will assist with meal prep, serve meals with warmth, and maintain a clean kitchen while following recipes and safeguarding guidelines.

Qualifications

• NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation or willingness to work towards it.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow recipes and record information accurately.
• Safeguarding training required and ongoing development.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal preparation under direction of the Chef or Cook.
• Serve meals with warmth and respect in a timely manner.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene, including equipment and surfaces.
• Monitor and record food storage temperatures (fridges, freezers, etc.).
• Support stock rotation and ensure ingredients are stored properly.
• Show new team members how to safely use kitchen equipment.
• Wash up and keep the kitchen spotless after busy lunch periods.
