Job summary

Co-op Funeralcare in Leigh is seeking a part-time team member to support families and colleagues through compassionate service. The role involves in-person and phone contact, handling client documentation, invoicing, and maintaining a welcoming funeral home environment.

You'll assist with the preparation and care of the deceased, manage basic cash handling, learn digital systems, and refer regulated work to Funeral Plan Arrangers.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
• Numeracy and basic cash handling.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficient IT skills with multiple devices and systems.
• Strong empathy and discretion when supporting families.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and the community.
• Support clients in person and over the phone, arranging family visits and answering questions.
• Keep the funeral home clean, safe and welcoming, reporting maintenance needs.
• Work with digital systems to manage client documentation, funeral arrangements and invoicing.
• Refer regulated work (funeral plans) to the Funeral Plan Arrangers.
• Assist in the care and preparation of the deceased and related duties.
• Update client management applications with accurate information.
• Carry out basic cash handling and invoicing tasks.
• Learn and apply health and safety standards and safe working practices.
