Job summary

Southern Co-op’s Funeralcare seeks a Funeral Arranger who will support families with care and reassurance at difficult times. No prior funeral experience is required; the role focuses on listening, guiding choices, and creating personal funerals.

You’ll build trusted relationships with families, coordinate funeral details, and work with teams to ensure a dignified, personal service. Training and DBS checks are provided.

Qualifications

• Genuine empathy, compassion and understanding.
• Excellent communication skills and the confidence to have sensitive conversations.
• Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
• Good administrative skills.
• Confidence using IT, including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Support families to arrange meaningful funerals, listening to their wishes and guiding choices.
• Care for the deceased with dignity and respect, including daily checks.
• Support families visiting Reflection Rooms and make moments personal.
• Help families choose memorials and aftercare options.
• Complete funeral, memorial and client administration accurately and with attention to detail.
• Manage day-to-day running of the funeral home including opening/closing and H&S checks.
• Collaborate with colleagues, internal teams and external suppliers to coordinate every funeral detail.
• Complete FCA-regulated training for pre-paid funeral plans.
• Build relationships within the local community and represent Funeralcare at events.
