Job summary

Chelmsford Star Co-op in the United Kingdom is recruiting for a Funeral Care Associate. You will be the families' first contact at the scene of bereavement, building relationships with those we serve while ensuring the care and presentation of the deceased is carried out with dignity and respect.

This permanent long-day pattern runs 8.00am to 8.06pm, four days on and four days off, with DBS checks for new joiners from December 2023 and on-going support through our recruitment process.

Responsibilities

• Be the families' first contact at the scene of bereavement, building relationships with families during a difficult time.
• Oversee the care and preparation of the deceased, ensuring dignity and respect in washing and dressing the person.
• Handle the preparation and presentation of the deceased for viewing and ceremonies as part of the funeral team.
• Work a permanent long day pattern: 8.00am to 8.06pm on a 4 days on / 4 days off cycle.
• Hold a full UK manual driving licence and be prepared to assist with on-call shifts across varying hours.
