Job summary

Chelmsford Star Co-op invites applications for a Funeral Advisor to support families through the funeral planning journey with empathy, clarity and reliability. You’ll manage day-to-day operations across our funeral homes, uphold high standards and foster trusted relationships within the local community.

• Compassionate nature and active listening skills
• Attention to detail and ability to handle complex information
• Strong communication and organisation abilities
• Willingness to travel within the area when required
• Able to build relationships with families, hospitals and doctors
• Experience in an administration role is desirable

Responsibilities

• Develop knowledge of services and tailor funeral options to families with empathy.
• Arrange funerals with attention to detail and cost transparency.
• Coordinate clear communication between families and Funeral Directors.
• Handle administrative tasks with accuracy, sensitivity and care.
• Keep the funeral home clean, tidy and secure (open/close, alarms).
• Promote Funeral Services within the local community as a cooperative member.
• Build relationships with hospitals, care homes, clergy and doctors.
• Comply with statutory and internal policies and procedures.
