Job summary

Central England Co-operative Limited is seeking a Funeral Care Associate to support our OurCoop funeral teams, delivering compassionate care to families and ensuring dignified preparation of the deceased.

This permanent night role runs from 7.54pm to 8.00am (4 nights on, 4 nights off) with an additional unsocial payment for hours 10pm–6am. DBS checks apply to new joiners, and on-call standby is part of the duties.

Qualifications

• Must have compassion, empathy and professionalism when handling the deceased.
• Physical ability to lift and transfer the deceased.
• Full UK Manual driving licence (valid for manual and automatic vehicles).
• Willingness to participate in Standby and On-Call rota.

Responsibilities

• Care for families at the scene of bereavement and be the first point of contact.
• Oversee preparation and presentation of the deceased with dignity and respect.
• Assist with transfers and movement of the deceased within Society vehicles.
• Work a permanent night shift from 7.54pm to 8.00am (4 nights on, 4 nights off); an unsocial payment applies 10pm–6am.
• Respond to DBS checks for new joiners and complete recruitment processes.
