Job summary

Central England Co-op is seeking a dedicated funeral care professional to support families at a difficult time, delivering compassionate assistance and careful preparation of the deceased. You will be the first point of contact, offering empathy and professionalism while working as part of our funeral team.

The role includes handling the preparation and presentation of the deceased with dignity, lifting and transferring as needed, and participating in an on-call schedule.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift and transfer the deceased with care and respect.
• Willingness to work long day shifts including 8:00am–8:06pm on a 4 on/4 off pattern.
• Full UK manual driving licence and readiness to join on-call rota.

Responsibilities

• Be our families' first point of contact at the scene of bereavement and during care/preparation of the deceased.
• Ensure highest standards of professional service and presentation of the deceased, including washing and dressing with dignity.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support a caring, compassionate funeral team environment.
