Chelmsford Star Co-op seeks a compassionate Funeral Care Assistant to support families at bereavement scenes and ensure dignified preparation of the deceased. You will work within our funeral team, delivering high standards of professional service and empathy during difficult times.

Responsibilities include preparing and presenting the deceased with care and respecting their dignity, while also contributing to standby and on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Compassion and empathy essential for supporting families during bereavement.
• Ability to lift and transfer the deceased with appropriate care.
• Full UK Manual driving licence required for vehicle transfers.

Responsibilities

• Attend the scene of bereavement as first point of contact for families.
• Care for the deceased including preparation and presentation with dignity and respect.
• Participate in Standby and On-Call rota as part of responsibilities.
