Job summary

Co-op Funeralcare is hiring a Funeral Arranger on a part-time basis. The role includes preparing, transporting and caring for the deceased with professionalism and empathy, while providing excellent service to families. Training is provided, and benefits include a strong pension and staff discounts.

The position is 18.75 hours per week, with shifts Wednesday 1pm-5pm and Thursday & Friday 9am-5pm, and a permanent contract after training. A DBS check may be required.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills for client and family interactions.
• Comfort with basic cash handling and invoicing calculations.
• Attention to detail to ensure accurate records and compliance.
• Proficient IT skills to use multiple devices and software.
• High level of empathy, discretion, and care in sensitive situations.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and the community.
• Support clients in person and over the phone, arranging family visits and answering questions.
• Keep the funeral home clean, safe, and welcoming and report maintenance issues.
• Use digital systems to manage client documentation, funeral arrangements and invoicing.
• Refer regulated work, such as funeral plans, to the Funeral Plan Arrangers.
