Job summary

Co-op Funeralcare in Burscough is seeking a Funeral Arranger for a part‑time role. The position is 18.75 hours per week with shifts Wed 1pm–5pm and Thu/Fri 9am–5pm, at £13.47 per hour plus benefits.

The role involves direct contact with the deceased as part of normal duties, performed with professionalism, dignity and care. Typical duties include preparation, transportation and personal care of the deceased, updating client records and coordinating family visits.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with clients and colleagues.
• Comfort with numerical tasks such as cash handling, discounts, and data entry.
• High attention to detail and adherence to regulatory policies.
• Good IT skills and ability to learn new systems quickly.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and the community.
• Support clients in person and by phone, arranging family visits and answering questions.
• Ensure the funeral home is clean, safe and welcoming and report maintenance issues.
• Manage client documentation and invoicing using digital systems.
• Refer all regulated work to Funeral Plan Arrangers.
• Assist with manual handling and preparation of the deceased as trained.
• Update client management applications with accurate information.
