Job summary

Co-op Digital is hiring a Funeral Arranger in Southport. The role is part-time (18.75 hours/week) with duties including preparation, transportation and care of the deceased, while upholding professional standards and health and safety guidelines.

Training is provided, and there is a strong emphasis on empathy and community support. The position involves client communication, maintaining a welcoming environment at the funeral home, and use of digital systems for arranging services and invoicing.

Qualifications

• Clear communication with clients and colleagues, both written and verbal.
• Ability to perform basic calculations, cash handling, and invoicing.
• Strong attention to regulatory policies and accuracy in records.
• Proficient with technology devices and systems (computers, tablets, smartphones).
• Demonstrates empathy, discretion and care in sensitive funeral settings.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and the community.
• Support clients in person and over the phone, arranging family visits and answering questions.
• Ensure the funeral home is clean, safe and welcoming, reporting maintenance issues as needed.
• Use digital systems to manage client documentation, funeral arrangements and invoicing.
• Direct regulatory work like selling funeral plans to the Funeral Plan Arrangers.
• Assist with manual handling of coffins and care of the deceased for viewing.
• Update client management applications with accurate, timely information.
