Job summary

Co-op Funeralcare in Manchester is seeking a Funeral Arranger to join our friendly team in Gorton. This part-time role is 18.75 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm. You’ll help families say goodbye with professionalism, empathy and dignity.

No prior funeral industry experience is required as full training and ongoing support are provided. You’ll build strong client relationships, coordinate arrangements, and ensure a respectful, welcoming environment for clients and visitors.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication, written and verbal.
• Numerical skills for cash handling and invoicing.
• Attention to detail and accuracy with regulatory policies.
• Good IT skills across various devices and systems.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with clients and the community.
• Support clients in person and over the phone, arranging family visits and answering questions.
• Keep the funeral home clean, safe and welcoming, reporting maintenance needs.
• Use digital systems to manage client docs, funeral arrangements and invoicing.
• Refer regulated work, such as funeral plans, to the Funeral Plan Arrangers.
• Assist in handling coffins and preparation of the deceased as trained.
• Update client records with accurate, timely information.
